Stoke City are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a move for Wednesday stopper Lee Grant in the January transfer window.

Former Owls boss Brian Laws and his Burnley side have already been linked with a swoop for the former England under-21 international.

But now Tony Pulis is reported to be chasing Grant for a fee believed to be around £2 million.

City could well use midfielder Tom Soares, currently on loan at Hillsborough, as part of any deal to take the ‘keeper to the Britannia Stadium, should the reports prove to be true.

Grant has already pledged his future to the Owls following the initial interest from Turf Moor.

But a sizeable fee could tempt Wednesday to sell and allow new boss Alan Irvine bolster his squad with the fee.
