A recent report on the interweb concerning Sheffield Wednesday striker Fernando Forestieri and a transfer out to Swansea City certainly got tongues wagging amongst the fanbase.
A report suggested that newly relegated Swansea were considering a move for our 28-year-old attacker and it basically leant on the fact that it’s well known Wednesday want to cut costs and rebalance our first team staff after last season’s failures and of course, having been in the Premier League in 2017/18, the Liberty Stadium outfit will benefit from Parachute Payments for the next few years.
In light of our cost-cutting plans, a few departures already this summer but crucially no new incoming players, that means phrases like ‘Forestieri’s future’ at the club can be thrown in with a vague reference to Financial Fair Play compliance and hey presto, you have a normal transfer rumour that at least sounds plausible.
With a healthy dose of scepticism in responses from fans, the fact does remain though that if a club enters a strong financial bid for him, there would be an important question to answer and fans were quick to state it has to be in the region of £20million if they were to swallow the news.
Coming from HITC it's most likely made up crap but if it was true then we've got to be talking not a penny less than £20Million.

How much would we need to bid you reckon? I'll be shocked if there's any truth in it

???????? haha well whatever it is, I can't see us pulling it off

Both. Of course Swansea would want FF. Who wouldn't. Every other Championship club and a handful of Premier league clubs would. Doesnt mean its happening. And yes HITC are crap clickbait that should be avoided. #swfc

Got to use maddison transfer to Leicester as a guide. 24 million. Foresteri is just as good a player puts him in 20 million bracket #swfc

You just can’t sell your best players to clubs in the same league!!! Bloody crazy.

I don’t get it with Wednesday, chansiri said we had to pay the extortionate prices we do to keep investment up… even put out a survey saying would we prefer to pay less and rely on youth/ cheaper players. Looks like we are paying top whack for reduced investment

NOooooooooooooooooo!

Selling Forestieri to a Championship rival makes sense from a financial point of view but might already condemn us to a poor season. Chansiri needs to look elsewhere to make savings in my view ????????

20 million pounds at least

Blimey Wednesday will struggle next season if they sell many more
