Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje has extended his loan deal with Charlton Athletic for a further month – fuelling speculation he’s set to stay permanently.

The former Port Vale man has already enjoyed one month with the League 1 high-fliers, scoring two goals despite only making appearances from the bench.

Sodje went to The Valley initially on a one-month deal, but that’s been extended to two, and he’ll now stay at the club until Saturday, January 9.

Charlton could then try and make the move permanent, with Sodje seemingly down the pecking order at S6 and having already stated his desire to stay in London.
