Wednesday striker Akpo Sodje enjoyed a winning start to his month-long loan deal with Charlton Athletic as the Addicks eased by MK Dons 5-1 in League 1 on Saturday.

Sodje played only 12 minutes of his debut as a substitute for Phil Parkinson’s men after only sealing the loan deal to The Valley on Saturday morning.

His brother, Sam, and former Owl Deon Burton managed to get on the scoresheet in the 5-1 romp.

The rout could be bad news for Sodje though, with Owls boss Brian Laws keen for the striker to get some much-needed game time to help get him to full fitness following an injury-ravaged spell.

The goals could mean Akpo will have to settle for a spot on the bench next time out for the London club.
