Wednesday have confirmed that today’s FA Cup 2nd round clash against Northampton Town will definitely go ahead (kick-off 3pm), despite recent snowfall.

There was overnight snowfall last night in S6, and across much of the north of England, as the arctic conditions continued around the country.

But Wednesday have confirmed that the Hillsborough pitch is in ‘perfectly playable’ condition thanks to the undersoil heating at the stadium.

The areas surrounding the stadium also pose no danger to supporters, according to the club, meaning the match will go ahead as scheduled.

The Owls will be looking to progress to the 3rd round of the prestigious competition, where Premier League and Championship sides enter.
