Wednesday’s injury-hit defender Frank Simek will be looking to prove to boss Brian Laws that he’s fit and ready for first team action in tonight’s reserve team clash.

Wednedsayites have been calling on the American right-back to be given a go in the first team in light of recent poor performances at the back from the Owls first string.

And he’ll have the chance to prove that he’s up to the challenge when Wednesday taken on their Shrewsbury Town counterparts tonight.

Media reports have revealed that Laws is keen to send the former Arsenal Academy product out on loan to build up his first-team match fitness, despite calls to throw him straight into the Wednesday starting eleven for Saturday’s visit of Coventry City.

Akpo Sodje, Sean McAllister and Francis Jeffers will have similar thoughts on their minds when they line-up for the reserves at New Meadow tonight.
