New Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce has had a very good start to life at Hillsborough with a good run of form under his charge since he arrived just in time late on in January to make a few additions to the group and they were largely a success, but links with Arminia Bielefeld skipper Julian Borner has split opinions in the fanbase.
Although we pushed the Play-Off spots close, it was too much of a bridge to gap after the first half of the season and now attentions turn to what will be a very big summer for the club.
We’ve already named some departures as we keep an eye on finances and no doubt we’ll have made some players available for transfer as well. It does mean we can expect some new arrivals, but the latest name on the rumour mill has received a mixed reaction.
The Star reported this week that we were now close to doing a deal for Bundesliga 2 side Arminia Bielefeld skipper Julian Borner. The centre-half is available as a free agent this summer after he rejected a new deal at the club and the report states he’s been in Sheffield this week for discussions.
The 28-year-old was capped twice at Under 18 level for Germany and he has well over 150 games under his belt in his career so far.
Totally underwhelmed. He’s 28. What happened to youth & legs ?

Not a Bruce signing that

Hope it’s a Bruce signing and not some random arsed chuff like Van Aken or Lachman.

From what I have read, This seems like it could be a great signing. Norwich were after him at one stage and we know how good their recruitment has been. #swfc

As long as it's as well as Hector, not instead of…

Note he’s a left footer. Good centre backs with a left peg are highly sought after.

I really hope this is Bruce making the signings. Because that seems an odd one.
