Bristol Rovers midfielder Stuart Campbell can’t wait to make the trip to Hillsborough in npower League 1 this weekend.

It will be the first time in almost 20 years that the Pirates have visited Hillsborough, although the Pirates captain has played in S6 before with former club Grimsby Town.

And he is full of praise for Wednesday’s grand old stadium ahead of a crucial league clash on Saturday.

‘It’s a cracking stadium and they have undersoil heating so hopefully everything will be OK,’ he told the Bristol Evening Post.

‘I’ve been lucky enough to play there a few times in the past and it’s a Premier League standard stadium so hopefully we can play well.

‘We’ve had a couple of good results on the road in our last two games and I think we were a bit unfortunate not to win at least one of them against the top two teams in the League.’

He continued: ‘Footballers live for playing every Saturday and I’m sure, when the time comes, everyone will be buzzing.’

Rovers have drawn both of their last away games and will be looking for another positive outcome from their trip to South Yorkshire.
