Lee Bullen, Steve Maclean and Deon Burton have all been offered new deals at Hillsborough – and youngster Rocky Lekaj is the latest name to be added to the list of contract renewals.

The 17-year-old is one of a number of academy players to have impressed Owls boss Brian Laws when called upon in the first team squad this season.

Laws insists the youngster has a huge amount of potential but still has a long way to go to become the finished article.

‘Rocky has outstanding ability. We’re hoping he’s going to sign a new contract. We are in negotiations at the moment.,’ he told the Sheffield Star.

‘He’s certainly got potential, though he’s not the finished article.’

The Norweigen youngster has enjoyed a fine season for the club’s reserve team and has also made two first team appearances from the bench in the victories over Colchester United and Cardiff City – which have resulted in him being called up for international honours.

And the Owls boss is still hoping to give Rocky his first start in the famous blue and white stripes in one of the three remaining games this season.
