Report – Wednesday Battle With Leeds For Dutch Target

|

It’s been claimed that Sheffield Wednesday have joined the hunt and made an enquiry for Den Haag versatile attacker Sheraldo Becker.

The original claim seems to come from the Mirror’s transfer ticker over the weekend and the 24-year-old winger is expected to leave his Dutch club this summer when his contract naturally expires – so he is available as a free agent.

Middlesbrough, Leeds United, Derby County and Swansea City are all name-checked in the Mirror’s report as having sent enquiries in, but with so many clubs linked I can’t help but feel it’s an agent spinning the press to try and garner further interest in their client, as otherwise, there’s very little concrete information offered in the report.

The player has had a decent season in the Eredivisie though as according to Whoscored he’s contributed seven goals and eight assists across his 33 appearances for them in 2018/19 and his versatility could be why manager Steve Bruce is interested in him as he can play on either flank and through the middle.
