Report: Sheff Wed ‘set their sights’ on West Ham’s 21-year-old, manager ‘willing’ to sell him

|

According to Pete O’Rourke of the Football Insider, Sheffield Wednesday are interested in Nathan Holland and could make a move for the West Ham United winger this summer. With Jacob Murphy and Alessio Da Cruz set to return to parent clubs Newcastle United and Parma at the end of the season, Garry Monk will need reinforcements in attack.

Holland contributed 18 goals in 13 Premier League 2 games for West Ham u23s before joining Oxford United on loan in January for the remainder of the campaign. The 21-year-old has gone on to make 11 appearances in all competitions for the Us, scoring three goals. He doesn’t appear to have a future at the London Stadium and David Moyes ‘may be willing’ to grant him a move away this summer.

He joined West Ham from Everton in January 2017 and has gone on to make four first-team appearances. Football Insider say Holland can operate on both flanks and as a No.10, so he’d provide versatility in attack for Monk. As the wide-man is currently playing in League One, it remains to be seen whether he’ll be good enough for Wednesday in the future.
