According to the Football Insider, Derby County are ‘plotting a move to sign’ Morgan Fox. The 26-year-old has an uncertain future at Sheffield Wednesday as his contract is up in the coming weeks and little progress has been made from negotiations that began in January.

Garry Monk is hopeful that Fox will stay at Sheff Wed, but the Owls have to confirm his future in less than two weeks, so time is running out. He’s got a lot of interest from clubs higher up in the Championship too, so there may be other reasons why Fox hasn’t agreed terms just yet.

Who did Sheffield Wednesday sign Josh Windass on loan from?

The 26-year-old joined Wednesday from Charlton Athletic in 2017 and has made 102 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and making six assists. He’s been a regular at left-back this season and has impressed under Garry Monk, but the Owls may be planning for his future.

Wednesday have already tied down Matt Penney and Osaze Urhoghide to new deals. Penney could be Monk’s new left-back next season and Vital Sheff Wed have suggested Liam Palmer could operate in the makeshift role too. Monk doesn’t have a lucrative budget to strengthen every area, so it makes sense for him to consider internal solutions.
