According to TEAMtalk, Burnley, Norwich City, Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion, Derby County and Stoke City are ‘ready to make a move’ for Steven Fletcher.

The 33-year-old could be a ‘big-name departure’ from Sheffield Wednesday this summer as his contract is up in the coming months and there’s been little progress in tying him down to a new deal.

Who did Sheffield Wednesday sign Josh Windass on loan from?

Fletcher has made 135 appearances in all competitions since joining Wednesday from Sunderland in 2016, scoring 38 goals and making nine assists. He’s featured regularly under Garry Monk, making 29 appearances this season while scoring 13 goals and making two assists, but his future looks away from Hillsborough. Fletcher isn’t the only one too.

Wednesday could lose another seven strikers in the coming months – Connor Wickham, Omar Damba, Atdhe Nuhiu, Sam Winnall, Preslav Borukov, Fraser Preston, Fernando Forestieri – so Monk will need to scour the transfer market for replacements.

Vital Wednesday have named Sammy Ameobi, Tyler Walker and Dwight Gayle as potential options, as the Owls risk being left with Jordan Rhodes in attack next season if they fail to tie down Fletcher and others, but it remains to be seen who they’ll bring in.
