Fresh from the official announcement about goalkeeper Keiren Westwood’s new deal at Sheffield Wednesday, reports are now suggesting that we’ll soon announce that full back Liam Palmer has also signed a new long term deal at Hillsborough.

The Scottish international’s deal did expire over the summer and there was an expectation that he’d been offered new terms but of course, with our Financial Fair Play soft embargo in place so far this summer, announcements have been few and far between as preparations for the 2019/20 Championship campaign continue.

Yesterday it was being reported that a deal had now been agreed with the 27-year-old and there was a suggestion it would be more than a simple two year extension for our long serving Academy graduate.

With the squad now set to return from our time out in Portugal as pre-season work continues, if these reports are right, hopefully we’ll get swift confirmation and then official announcements about our rumoured signings that have travelled with the group.
