Wednesday will be without defender Reda Johnson for Tuesday night’s npower League One trip to Carlisle United through suspension.

The Benin international picked up a booking in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Colchester United at Hillsborough, his fifth of the season, meaning he’ll miss the trip to Cumbria.

The former Plymouth Argyle man enjoyed one of his better games in the blue and white stripes against the U’s, and even got on the scoresheet to double Wednesday’s lead with a goal in front of the Kop.

It means Julian Bennett is likely to step in to replace him at left-back. The former Nottingham Forest man has failed to cement a place in defence since his switch from the City Ground in the summer and will be keen to use his chance to impress Owls boss Gary Megson.
