Sheffield Wednesday have had a great start to the 2019/20 Championship campaign under new manager Garry Monk, although there have been a few ups and downs, but last weekend’s clash with Leeds United sees us head towards November sat in fifth place in the second tier table, only three points from top spot.
Given all the headaches over the summer with Steve Bruce’s departure, I doubt there are many fans who wouldn’t have taken seven wins from 14 games at this stage, but one man’s importance to the side continues, and that’s diminutive Scottish midfielder Barry Bannan.
The 29-year-old is yet to open up his scoring account for the campaign, but he already has three assists to his name, and with him being handed the armband in the weekend, many fans feel his efforts should be rewarded on a permanent basis.

One step ahead all the time, knows exactly what’s going to happen before it does and moves away from the danger. Brilliant yesterday. Great to watch.

Ran your socks off pal. Fantastic team effort. Unlucky not to get all 3 points. Keep it going.

Good to see such annoyance at FT that we didn't get all 3 points, but hope all the players were proud of that performance, captain.
