R.I.P. Paul Shirtliff

Sheffield Wednesday are in mourning today after former defender Paul Shirtliff lost his battle with cancer at the age of 46.

He passed away this morning and Vital Sheffield Wednesday would like to pass our condolences on to Paul’s family and friends.

The brother of another Owl Peter Shirtliff, Paul was part of the Wednesday squad in the 1980’s before moving on to play for Boston United, and also pulling on the shirt of Frickley Athletic, Northampton Town and Dagenham and Redbridge.
