Sheffield Wednesday are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performances by Daniel Pudil in the one nil victory over Cardiff City and the two one victory over Queens Park Rangers in the weekend’s Easter double header was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Pudil was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Pudil starred for Sheffield Wednesday as they picked up six points from their two Easter matches, producing a solid defensive display to repel Cardiff City in a 1-0 success. Three days later, the Czech full-back made one goal and scored the other as Queens Park Rangers were defeated.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Pudil for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.
