Wednesday will face Stevenage for the first time tonight looking to continue their fine form in npower League One.

Gary Megson and his troops will travel to The Lamex Stadium in confident mood following theirn 3-1 victory over MK Dons at Hillsborough on Saturday.

But Stevenage will be an unknown threat for Wednesday, who haven’t met tonight’s opponents before in a comptitive fixture.

The Boro have made a decent start to life in League One, having lost just once so far this term – and they’ll be looking to get their biggest scalp yet against the Owls.

Vital Quotes:

Owls boss Gary Megson told the official SWFC website:

‘To go to Charlton and get our first point on the road and then beat the leaders has been a good week for us so now we need to carry on the standards that we’ve set.

‘But we’re not getting carried away because I don’t think we’ve played particularly well in either game, I think we’ve had two good second halves.

‘If we keep doing that, eventually we’ll find ourselves with too much to do in second halves if we don’t begin games properly.’

Stevenage Team News:

Stevenage have completed the signing of striker Don Cowan ahead of tonight’s game and the former Shamrock Rovers man is free to go straight into tonight’s squad.

But manager Graham Westley could be tempted to stick with the same starting eleven for the third match on the spin following some decent performances.

Rob Sinclair, the winger, is still sidelined through injury and will be for the next month, but Stevenage have no fresh injury worries going into the match.

Player to watch: Don Cowan

The 21-year-old new arrival will be hoping to make an instant impression on his new supporters following his move, which was only completed today.

Wednesday Team News:

The Owls have no fresh injury concerns for tonight’s match and Megson could well name the same eleven that started the MK Dons clash.

Midfielder Liam Palmer will be pushing for a start after playing so well after coming on for Jermaine Johnson at the weekend. But Johnson himself will be hoping for another chance to shine on his return from injury.

Goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell will keep his place in goal with the news that regular number one Nicky Weaver will be sidelined for three months with a knee injury.

Player to watch: Gary Madine

Madine scored twice in the 3-1 win over MK Dons and he’ll be looking to continue his fine form with more goals at Stevenage.
