Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper Romain Larrieu has been linked with a summer move to Hillsborough according to our sister site Vital Plymouth Argyle.

Owls boss Paul Sturrock has been desperately seeking to replace ‘keeper David Lucas who left the club last week. Liverpool and England goalkeeper Scott Carson has been top of the list but Sturrock has kept his options open.

Sturrock yesterday told the official SWFC website: ‘I will talk to Liverpool over the next few days to find out the situation (regarding Carson ). But I haven`t left all my eggs in one basket and I will be working hard to bring a keeper in soon.’

Sturrock brought the 29-year-old Larrieu to Home Park back in 2000 during his highly successful managerial spell with the Pilgrims, and may opt to make a move for the Frenchman should he fail to bring Carson to S6.

The Frenchman has made 176 appearances since his move to England and still has two years left on his contract at home park.
