Wednesday will be out to put their recent winless run firmly to bed this weekend with a second win on the spin when Peterborough United visit Hillsborough.

The Owls ended their nightmare run with a comfortable with at fellow strugglers Ipswich Town last weekend and the visit of fellow strugglers Posh gives Dave Jones and his men the chance to climb out of the Championship relegation zone.

Three points will be no easy feat, however, with Darren Ferguson’s men in a decent run of form with four wins from their last six matches.

Vital Quotes:

Owls boss Dave Jones told the Sheffield Star:

“It`s a crazy division. Win two or three games and all of a sudden you`re talking about being on the tail end of the play-offs. There`s a long, long way to go.

“The teams at the top won`t be there at the end; somebody else will make a move. At the bottom end, somebody else will drop. Look at Blackpool – top of the league, then one month later in the middle of the pack.

“We have to keep growing because we have made a lot of strides in a short space of time – we have to maintain that.”

Wednesday Team News:

Owls boss Dave Jones could stick with the same eleven that saw off Ipswich Town last weekend with no fresh injury or suspension concerns for Saturday’s match.

Rhys McCabe could be included in the squad after recovering from a thigh injury but a place on the bench is his likely destination.

Fellow midfielder Chris Lines is also making good progress on his return from injury but the visit of Posh is expected to come too soon for the former Bristol Rovers man.

Victory for the Owls will see them move out of the Championship relegation zone.

Player to watch: Ross Barkley

The Everton loan star has been growing as a player since his arrival at Hillsborough and his two goals in the 3-0 win at Ipswich last time out will no doubt give him plenty of confidence going into Saturday’s match.

Peterborough United Team News:

Posh come into the game looking to make it three league wins on the spin but have a couple of injury concerns.

George Boyd and Michael Bostwick both picked up knocks in their last outing but have returned to training this week and are expected to feature at Hillsborough.

Tommy Rowe is also a doubt with an ankle injury and United will assess the player as close to kick-off as possible.

Player to watch: Saido Berahino

Barahino has arrived on-loan from West Brom and made a great impact last weekend when he scored twice in Peterborough’s 3-0 win over Derby County.
