Wednesday are set to get a double injury boost this weekend with the probable return of recent absentees Lewis Buxton and Giles Coke for selection.

The duo have returned to training with the rest of the squad and Wednesday boss Alan Irvine is hopeful that both will be available for selection against Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Midfielder Coke has been recovering from a cartilage operation while defender Buxton has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The latter could have been involved in last weekend’s draw with Charlton Athletic but Irvine decided against risking him.

The news will leave the Owls boss with a welcome selection headache at the back.

New signings Reda Johnson both impressed in their first home match for the Owls at the weekend and are expected to continue in the Owls’ back four.

Fellow new arrival Mark Reynolds, who signed for the Owls from SPL side Motherwell at the weekend, could also be in-line for a debut against the O’s.

A betting man would put the duo as part of the Owls squad for the trip to London, but not in the starting eleven.
