Wednesday have revealed they will offer new contracts to stay at Hillsborough to Lewis Buxton, Jermaine Johnson and James O’Connor.

The club has acted quickly to release their list of players they’d like to retain, and it means Tommy Miller and Richard Hinds will be leaving the club after failing to earn new deals.

The club’s desite to keep wing wizard Jermaine Johnson has been no secret, but it will perhaps come as a surprise to see Buxton and O’Connor offered new deals.

Buxton hinted that he could be on his way after giving a tearful farewell to Wednesdayites following the final game of the season against Exeter City at the weekend.

Many also expected O’Connor, and not Miller, to be on his way, but Megson has opted to offer him the chance to stay at Wednesday.

The offers have yet to be issued to the players, and thus yet to be accepted by any of the three as yet.

Owls boss Megson told the official site: ‘There are always difficult decisions to make and if I can help Tommy and Richard in any way possible, I will be more than happy to do so.’
