Large numbers of travelling Cardiff fans and low ticket prices mean the Hillsborough crowd on Sunday could be a record breaker.

Here are the numbers, stats fans:

The final match last season: the stadium rocked to the sound of 36208 Owls and Canaries. How Wednesday would love a repeat of that 4-1 scoreline (Burton, Clarke and Sahar netting) over Norwich City.

The largest crowd at Hillsborough this season: 30441 fans saw the first part of the record breaking double victory over our dear rivals from across town, Steve Watson sending the Owls fans into raptures with the only goal.. but what a goal it was.

The largest crowd in the Championship this season: 33079 as Wolves edged past Derby at Pride Park with a late Andy Keogh goal.

The largest crowd outside the Premiership this season: 33580 at Elland Road for the encounter between crowned champions Leicester and L**ds.

With extra seats released for both home and away fans (supplementing the initial issue of 3500 for the Bluebirds), and the crucial nature of the clash re: Cardiff City’s playoff hopes, it’s going to be a massive day in more ways than one.
