Owls boss Paul Sturrock has swooped to take young Tottenham Hotspur defender Nathan Peprah Annan on trial at Hillsborough.

The 18-year-old has been plagued by injuries at White Hart Lane, but has featured three times for Spurs in the FA Premier Academy League.

The Ghana-born defender has also featured for England at under-16 level and featured regularly for the Spurs under-17 set up.

The youngster will play in the Owls reserve match against Oldham Athletic reserves this week in a bid to impress Sturrock, who is desperate to add to his already depleted squad.
