Wednesday boss Brian Laws is set to complete his third bit of business in the January transfer window by completing the full transfer of Stoke City’s Lewis Buxton.

Buxton has been on loan at Hillsborough for the last three months and has impressed the Owls gaffer enough to warrant a permanent move in the blue and white stripes.

According to local media reports, it’s believed a fee has been agreed with the Premier League side and the formalities are close to being completed.

Buxton played his last match of his loan spell for the Owls in the 4-1 victory over Charlton Athletic at the weekend and Wednesday are unable to extend the loan over the three months which have already been used up.

But Buxton is expected to be a full Owls player in time for Wednesday’s Chammpionship trip to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Despite Buxton being out of contract at Stoke at the end of the season Wednesday are still expected to pay a fee for the defender, but it’s only expected to be a minimal fee.
