Wednesday’s relegation rivals Crystal Palace have suffered a further blow with the news that boss Neil Warnock has left the club to take up the manager’s role at Q.P.R. today.
Warnock’s departure is the latest in a number of blows to the Selhurst Park club after they went into administration earlier this season, and being slapped with a ten point deduction as a result.
And although Owls boss Alan Irvine will be keen to sort his own ship out, Warnock’s departure could be the biggest blow yet to a Palace side who sit level on points with Wednesday.
The Eagles could well be the side to catch if Wednesday are to avoid the drop this season, given the events that have unfolded at the London club this season.
Let’s hope that it doesn’t come to that, but given recent results against us, Warnock’s departure from Palace can only be a good thing for our prospects of staying up this season.
Despite his Sheffield United connections, he’s a top manager and arguably the best man for the job at Palace given their situation.
Q.P.R., too, have been in poor form of late, and Warnock will no doubt be looking forward to another clash against the Owls when we visit Loftus Road before the end of the season.
