Owls manager Brian Laws has brought a defender in to the club on an emergency one month loan in the shape of Derby County’s Michael Johnson.

Laws has been desperate to bolster his defensive ranks after the Owls’ disastrous start to the season which has seen them lose all six Championships matches so far to leave them rock bottom.

And the Owls gaffer has managed to get his man in the shape of the 34-year-old Rams defender, who will go straight in to the Wednesday squad to face Hull City at Hillsborough this weekend.

The former Birmingham City and Notts County man was a key part of the Rams’ squad which grabbed promotion to the Premiership last season but is yet to feature for Billy Davies’ men this term.

The arrival continues to ‘Reggae Boyz’ influx at the club, with fellow Jamaicans Jermaine Johnson and Deon Burton already at S6.
