Wednesday could be set to renew their interest in midfielder Wes Hoolahan after Norwich City’s relegation from the Championship to League One.

Canaries boss Bryan Gunn, recently confirmed as staying on at Carrow Road, could well be resigned to losing one of his star players as a consequence of failing to keep City in the Championship.

And Hoolahan’s uncertain future at Norwich has alerted the attention of a number of clubs, with Wednesday boss Brian Laws reported to be one of the interested parties.

Hoolahan was linked with a move to Hillsborough at the same time last season after enjoying a successful loan spell at Bloomfield Road with Blackpool.

But the Canaries took the chance on his services and missed his creativity in midfield when he was injured towards the end of the season.

Hoolahan is likely to command a decent fee should he move on, with him being one of a few Norwich will be able to cash in on following relegation.

Laws has already revealed he desire to strengthen the Owls’ midfield, but Darren Potter is likely to make his loan spell permanent this summer, while Tommy Miller has also been linked with a move to S6.
