Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has made six changes to his starting line-up for today’s npower League One clash at Hartlepool United.

The Owls have reverted to their ‘league eleven’ for the tough trip to Victoria Park today following the six changes made to the side that fell to a 4-2 loss in the Carling Cup at Scunthorpe United in midweek.

Marcus Tudgay starts, despite reported interest from Blackpool, while Neil Mellor also returns to the attack, with Clinton Morrison and Paul Heffernan dropping to the bench.

Skipper Darren Purse, Lewis Buxton and Tommy Spurr return to the defence in place of Richard Hinds, Jon Otsemobor and Daniel Jones respectively.

And Giles Coke returns to the midfield to partner Darren Potter, while former Hartlepool midfielder Tommy Miller gets a place on the bench.

Wednesday: Weaver; Buxton, Purse, Beevers, Spurr, Teale, Potter, Coke, Sedgwick, Mellor, Tudgay. Substitutes: Jameson, Otsemobor, Jones, O’Connor, Miller, Heffernan, Morrison

Hartlepool: Flinders, Haslam, Collins, Liddle, Horwood, Sweeney, Gamble, Murray, Brown, Boyd, Monkhouse. Substitutes: Rafferty, McSweeney, Behan, Yantorno, Fredriksen, Larkin, Hartley
