Wednesday legend Paolo Di Canio will be returning to British shores to show off his footballing skills in this weekend’s Soccer Aid 2008 at Wembley Stadium.

Owls fans will no doubt be keeping a close eye on their former idol to remind of the better times at Hillsborough should they tune in to the show, with the match hoping to raise money for UNICEF and its partners.

Di Canio will be strutting his stuff alongside and against other former professional players and celebrities when he pulls on the ‘Rest of the World’ shirt when they take on the ‘England Legends’ at the famous stadium, live on ITV1 this Saturday.

The Italian made 39 league appearances in the famous blue and white stripes during his one-and-a-half year stay at S6 following a £3 million switch for Celtic in 1997.

Westlife’s Nicky Byrne, Heroes actor Santiago Cabrera, Former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell, TV presenter Gethin Jones, comedian Patrick Kielty, rugby ace Kenny Logan, cricketer Brian Lara, Sex and the City actor Gilles Marini, singer Brian McFadden, Gordon Ramsay, Love Actually star Rodrigo Santoro and legends Jaap Stam, Franco Baresi, Romario, Luis Figo, Di Canio and Claudio Taffarel will be playing for the ‘Rest of the World’, which is managed by Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush.

Featuring for the England side will be football legends Jamie Redknapp, Alan Shearer, Teddy Sheringham, David Seaman, Graham Le Saux and Des Walker and rugby and Dancing on Ice star Kyran Bracken, singer Craig David, TV presenter Angus Deayton, Harry Potter actor Tom Felton, Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain, GMTV`s Ben Shephard, singer Gareth Gates, McFly`s Danny Jones, actor Hugo Speer, Heart 1062 radio presenter Jamie Theakston, and TV presenter Jonathan Wilkes.
