Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson has been called up to the Jamaica squad for their World Cup qualifying match against Canada next week.

The former Bradford and Bolton man has been blowing hot and cold in recent weeks, but the Jamaican management will no doubt have been impressed with his performance in the televised Steel City derby victory, despite his sending-off.

JJ will jet off to Jamaica following the Owls’ clash at Derby County this weekend and will return, probably jet-lagged, in time for the home clash with Coventry City the following Saturday.

Jamaican still have a chance to qualify, being three points behind leaders Mexico and two points behind Honduras.
