Wednesday boss Brian Laws is trying to get Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood at Hillsborough on loan according to reports in today’s papers.

Laws has already revealed that he’s looking to bolster his injury-ravaged squad, even more so in light of the latest setback to striker Akpo Sodje.

And the Daily Mirror is today reporting that Laws is looking towards former West Ham hitman Harewood to solve his problems.

But the Owls face competition for his services, with his former club Nottingham Forest also in the chase as they look to avoid relegation from the Championship.

And Forest will be favourites for his signature given his past with the City Ground club.

Both clubs are said to have made loan bids for the 29-year-old for a month.
