Wednesday are auctioning off a number of specially-signed items for the ‘Help For Heroes’ campaign this week.

A one-off Help For Heroes football, signed by all of the Owls’ first team squad before Saturday’s clash against Leicester City, will be the first item up for grabs.

Signed Wednesday shirts from the 2-0 victory over the Foxes, which are all emblazoned with the Help For Heroes logo, will also be auctioned off on eBay throughout this week.

The Football For Heroes week started on Saturday when the club welcomed soldiers from the 72nd Engineers regiment to the Owls’ clash against Leicester City.

Wednesday chairman Lee Strafford said: “We are delighted to be supporting Help for Heroes.

‘It is important that we take this opportunity to remember the bravery and courage that our armed forces show when working overseas and the difficult times that soldiers’ families have to face in their absence.

‘We hope this series of auctions will make a real difference for the charity in supporting wounded soldiers and their families.”

All profits from the auction will be donated to the ‘Help For Heroes’ charity, which is the official charity of The Football League for the 2009/10 season.
