Wednesday have been drawn at home against Hartlepool United in the northern area quarter-finals of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
The Owls will host their npower League One rivals in the week commencing Monday, November 8 at Hillsborough.
The draw for the next round of the competition took place on this morning’s Soccer AM show on Sky Sports.
It gives Alan Irvine’s men a good chance to progress to the semi-final of the competition with another game on home soil.
And the Owls will be full of confidence for the clash given the 5-0 thrashing they dished out to ‘Pool in their league meeting at Hartlepool earlier this season.
The Owls progressed to the last eight in the northern section thanks to an 8-7 penalty shoot-out success against Chesterfield in midweek.
Hartlepool progressed thanks to a slender 1-0 victory over League Two side Bradford City on Tuesday night.
