As reported on Vital Wednesday earlier, defender Michael Morrison has left the club to join League One rivals Charlton Athletic.

Addicks boss Chris Powell, who worked with Morrison at Leicester City, has been chasing the defender for a number of weeks and has finally got his man for an undisclosed fee.

Morrison has penned a three-year deal at The Valley and ends a nightmare spell at Hillsborough, which saw him make just 15 appearances in the blue and white following his move to S6 from the Foxes in the January transfer window.

He was signed by former Owls boss Alan Irvine but quickly fell down the pecking order following Gary Megson’s arrival as manager.

Morrison becomes Charlton’s eleventh senior signing of the summer so far.
