Some may have given up hope, but reports today are suggesting Wednesday are close to sealing some major new investment in the club which will be announced at tonight’s AGM.

The club have actively been seeking investment despite the long, drawn out process of interest from Geoff Sheard and his consortium, which never came to fruition.

But at the AGM tonight at Cutlers’ Hall, shareholders of the club are set to hear news that new investment is close, and that the club’s bank, the Co-op, have already been involved in talks.

An announcement to the Stock Exchange has also been prepared for first thing on Thursday morning according to a report in today’s Yorkshire Post.

The group involved with the takeover are not yet known, although it’s expected that there is some overseas interest in Wednesday, with meetings taking place behind the scenes in recent weeks.

Owls fans will no doubt be pleased, yet wary, of the news, and may take more heart from the fact that talks have been going on behind the scenes and not so much in the public domain, as the Geoff Sheard talks did.

Bring on the AGM!
