Wednesday have completed their second loan capture in as many days with Scunthorpe United defender Rob Jones signing until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old also arrives on an ’emergency loan’, as Wolves centre-back Danny Batth did yesterday.

He’ll go straight into the squad that makes the tough trip to Southampton on Saturday.

The former Grimsby Town and Hibernian man has played 16 times for the Iron this season but hasn’t featured since the 5-1 home thrashing against Everton in the FA Cup in early January.

Jones impressed while making 121 appearances for Hibs.

He captained the Easter Road side to their first silverware in 16 years when they lifted the Scottish League Cup in 2007.
