Owls bag LMA Performance of the Week

Wednesday have won the League Managers Association (LMA) Performance of the Week thanks to their 6-0 drubbing of Yorkshire rivals Leeds United at the weekend.

The on-song Owls embarrassed their local rivals, and in front of the Sky TV cameras, with a six-goal haul for caretaker boss Stuart Gray.

And the LMA Performance of the Week panel, which comprises Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, picked Wednesday’s performance as the best of the week.

The award will be another boost for caretaker boss Gray, who is keen to land the job on a permanent basis.
