Opinion: Defender finished at Sheff Wed after manager snub

|

Moses Odubajo was rumoured to be on his way out of Sheffield Wednesday this month after being made available for sale, but his ongoing snub from the first-team confirms it. Odubajo hasn’t made an appearance since the Owls’ 1-1 draw with Derby County (December 11) and is no longer making the matchday squad.

The 26-year-old has missed Wednesday’s last seven league games – 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest (December 14, 2019), 1-0 win over Bristol City (December 22), 3-2 defeat to Stoke City (December 26), 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City (December 29), 1-0 defeat to Hull City (January 1, 2020), 2-0 win over Leeds United (January 11), 5-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers (January 18).

Despite Liam Palmer being sidelined with injury, Garry Monk has still left Odubajo out of the squad in the Owls’ last two outings – Osaze Urhoghide has started in his stead and could be a regular at right-back.

Moses signed a two-year deal after moving from Brentford over the summer, but his time at Hillsborough is already up. Monk has replaced the 26-year-old in the squad and prefers Palmer as a backup. Where he’ll end up remains to be seen, however.

Should Sheffield Wednesday sell Moses Odubajo?
