With manager Jos Luhukay still searching for Sheffield Wednesday’s first win in the Championship season of 2018/19 following the defeat to Brentford on Sunday afternoon, it’s fair to say there weren’t many positives the travelling fans could’ve taken from the game.

It was a below par showing by a number of normally reliable players and on Whoscored’s system of playing ratings, Wednesday only saw one man break the 7 mark.

That was 23-year-old goalkeeper Cameron Dawson who polled 7.10 for his efforts on the day and Fernando Forestieri was a close second on 6.95 but even he had an off day by his usual standards.

Even the usually influential Barry Bannan was down as our ninth best player in the game so in many ways this one can maybe be ruled out as just one of those days, but the obvious worry is we are already racking up a few of those types of games.

Even one of those days recently when it came to our clinical edge and we dropped points on what could’ve been a comfortable win if everyone was firing on all cylinders.
