Vadaine Oliver sent another message to Alan Irvine by banging two goals in the Under-18s draw against their Blades counterparts.

Worksop-born Liam Palmer threaded the ball through for Oliver’s first.

A well worked set-piece was then finished by Oliver for his eighth of the season.

United secured a point, though, with a last minute strike.

Oliver has been tipped for big things by Vital in the past and this brace will have done little harm to his credentials for a first-team call-up and professional contract in the future.

Vital also understands that there are a number of Australian trialists from the Brisbane area still on trial at the club but it remains to be seen if any will have long-term futures at S6.
