Adam Reach underperformed as Sheffield Wednesday suffered a 2-1 defeat to Swansea City and many fans believe he should be sold when the season comes to a close. The 27-year-old has been a regular under Garry Monk, but he’s struggled for consistency for most of the campaign and may have an uncertain future as a result.

Who did Sheffield Wednesday sign Josh Windass on loan from?

Against Swansea, Reach played for 66 minutes, had 25 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 62.5% of his 16 passes, whipped in three crosses with 33% finding a teammate, picked up a booking, made three tackles, gave away one penalty and had one dribble before being substituted.

The English winger joined Wednesday from Middlesbrough for £5.3m in 2016 and has gone on to make 177 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals with 30 assists. Reach has made 36 appearances across the board this season, scoring two goals with seven assists, but he’s not hit the back of the net in the league since September and hasn’t assisted a goal since January.

Wednesday’s lack of depth on the wing may force Monk to keep him, however. Jacob Murphy and Alessio Da Cruz are due to return to their respective parent clubs later this month, so the Owls could be left with only Reach and Kadeem Harris out wide next season.
