Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed that Josh Windass could ‘miss out’ against Nottingham Forest over the weekend as he’s struggling with an ‘injury concern’. The 26-year-old was believed to have a calf problem, but Garry Monk said in a pre-match press conference that Windass’ thigh was the issue.
It remains to be seen whether Windass would have started on Saturday given he’s only made four appearances from a possible eight with Wednesday, amassing 240/720 minutes of playing time (33%). Monk still has Massimo Luongo, Kieran Lee, Barry Bannan and Joey Pelupessy to call upon in midfield too.
Wednesday are 15th in the Championship with 48 points from 37 games, having picked up just one win from their last 10. The Owls have struggled at home, winning only once from seven, so they’ll be in for a difficult game on Saturday – Forest are 5th with 60 points and have lost only three of 19 away games.
Despite Forest coming into the meeting as favourites, Wednesday boast nine wins from their last 10 head-to-heads. The one defeat came in the form of a 2-0 loss in September 2018, so history is on their side.
