Big-spending League Two side Notts County are reported to have made an inquiry into Wednesday’s transfer-listed centre-back Richard Wood.

The Owls Academy product was slapped on the transfer list by boss Brian Laws after failing to agree a new contract at Hillsborough.

Ipswich Town, Coventry City and Sheffield United are all thought to be interested in his services.

But Sven-Goran Eriksson’s County are thought to be the latest club interested in Woody, according to the Sheffield Star, as they look to continue building their squad for a push up the Football League.

The Owls announced Wood was demanding too much money for a new contract at S6 before transfer listing their former captain.

But the Meadow Lane club shouldn’t have such problems in giving Wood what he wants, wage wise, should he opt for a switch to County.
