Sheffield Wednesday’s first team squad returned to pre-season training on Friday morning and although we are yet to officially announce any of manager Steve Bruce’s summer deals, given all the speculation linking us with successful moves for Kadeem Harris, Moses Odubajo and Julian Borner – all three reported for duty.

According to a report from The Star all three players turned up and took part in the obligatory strength and fitness tests on the first day back, and once the medical and science staff know where each player is, the hard work will really begin as we prepare for the coming 2019/20 season.

With the trio of players showing up, naturally, it can only be a matter of time before their arrivals are made official once we’ve sidestepped the soft embargo we are under owing to our accounts being filed late but for any fans getting a bit nervous at how quiet things have been on an incoming front, it should reassure them work is definitely ongoing in the background.

There’s also the reported new contracts for Keiren Westwood, Liam Palmer and Kieran Lee to factor into Bruce’s summer work.
