“Never In The Game, Never Showed Any Desire” – Wednesday Gaffer Has Plenty Of Complaints

|

Sheffield Wednesday made the trip to the KCOM Stadium looking to upset a Hull City side who had been somewhat impressive of late under manager Nigel Adkins.

Caretaker gaffer Steve Agnew’s side were pretty much back to their worst and we failed to test their goalkeeper once across the game and we only mustered three efforts at goal in total.

The hosts took the advantage in first half stoppage time, and with seven minutes of the halftime restart, they had made it 2-0 from the penalty spot. Inside of the final 15 minutes of the time they made it 3-0 and fully deserved the scoreline in reality and I’d imagine no one would doubt that.

Wednesday will obviously need to be a hell of a lot better than that in the future.

Speaking to the BBC a very disappointed Agnew had to admit we were never really in the game and got what we deserved.

“It was a disappointing result and a bitterly disappointing performance. The third goal killed it off. We were never in the game and never showed any desire and Hull thoroughly deserved the win. It does tell us things about the players and they have to understand what we require. What we have found is they are a decent group of players. It’s one of those afternoons whether I was sat here or Steve Bruce was sat here we would have been saying the same things.”
