Owls boss Paul Sturrock will make an announcement on Monday regarding the future of Wednesday players who are out-of-contract this summer.

Sturrock met with Owls chairman Dave Allen last Friday to discuss the future of players including Lee Bullen, David Lucas, Jon-Paul McGovern and Richie Partridge, but agreed it was best to wait until the end of the season to reveal their fate.

One of the players yet to know his future – Lee Bullen – told BBC Sport that he is anxious about his future at Hillsborough: ‘There are quite a few players whose contracts expire at the end of the season and I’m in that batch. The boss will be saying who stays and who goes after individual meetings with the players on Monday.’

Sturrock will meet with the players individually on Monday to discuss their fate, and has revealed how difficult the job is to the official SWFC website.

He said: ‘It’s not an easy job. There are several things to weigh up. You have to take into account that we have two players who won’t start next season. Then you have to consider whether it is better the devil you know than to bring in new faces.’
