If we mentioned an U23 striker for the Owls, likely to make a transfer move this summer, most Wednesdayites would turn towards George Hirst. However, this may not be the case for much longer, as there could be a new forward name to remember.

According to the Mirror, Mikel Miller has joined the club on a 3-week trial period. The 21-year-old, who currently plays for Carshalton Athletic in the Isthmian League Division One South, has scored 35 goals in 88 first team appearances, according to the Robin’s official website.

This follows Wednesday’s move for George Boyd yesterday, as well as the long-awaited official capture of Jordan Rhodes. The Owls already have an embarrassment of riches going forward, having spent a rumoured £13.5m on the quartet of Jordan Rhodes, Gary Hooper, Sam Winnall, and Steven Fletcher.

With that considered, it is unknown what role Miller would have at the club. Miller was scouted through the V9 Academy, which was formed on the back of Vardy’s successes, after rising through the non-league at a late age to forge himself a sterling Premier League career.

Could you seen Mikel Miller ending up at Hillsborough, and would that be in the first-team squad or in with the U23s?
