Mariners Extend O’Donnell Loan

Wednesday goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell will spend another month on-loan at Blue Square Premier side Grimsby Town.

The young stopper has enjoyed an initial one-month deal at Blundell Park and has impressed enough to secure an extra four week stay with the Mariners.

Town boss Neil Woods said: ‘We’ve agreed it with Sheffield Wednesday and he will complete the paperwork later today.

‘Richard wants to stay and Wednesday are happy for him to do so.’

O’Donnell is behind Owls’ number one Nicky Weaver at Hillsborough, while Arron Jameson has also been keeping the 22-year-old out of the matchday squad.
